California quail

Heyo so I have chickens and button quail but I've never had a California quail. A month or two ago a suuuuper tame one showed up at my neighbors work and although they looked everywhere they didnt find the owners. He doesnt want to keep the lad, and for whatever reason the little guy is obsessed with me, so i said I'd take him. I've been ds ing some research but there isnt too much specifically about them so does anyone have advice for care and stuff?

That's cool that you found a tame california quail. I have a pair of them but they're not tame. I'm planning on handraising a couple of chicks though.

For food, I feed mine Gamebird Finisher, a complete diet in pellet form. You may want to check that you have a supplier of it nearby, I know it took me a bit to find one.

Where are you planning on housing it? Inside or Outside? I know some people keep tame ones as house pets. Do you have some kind of enclosure for it? Are you planning on getting any more? I keep mine in a large coop outside with my bobwhites and golden pheasants.

You probably won't need something this large if its just one quail.

Because its a lone quail and its tame you would probably want to spend a fair bit of time with it as quails are very social animals.
