And I am pretty sure it is a rooster.

The two Partridge Rocks in the picture are close to six weeks old. The one on the right is the one I posted a picture of yesterday.

I just took this picture just now--boy was it hard to get this shot

I think the one on the left is a cockerel and the one on the right is a pullet. Of course, I may be wrong. My philosophy is you don't know for sure until you here the crow or get an egg:

Nice shot of the PR! Photographing chicks is difficult. I don't know anything about that breed but would guess that is a cockerel & pullet by the looks of the combs. Wouldn't the feather color/pattern be different also?

I was telling Ron that a friend of mine is looking for Guinea keets. Anybody have Guineas for sale?

This is my first time with Partridge Rocks--When I got them I did not find too may pictures of their development. It looks to me like the one on the left is getting Hackle feathers. and after the 6 week molt there should be more obvious differences. The ones I think are Cockerels are a bunch bigger already.

Kim and I shared a McMurray order and these came from there. The Barred Rock in my last post came from them too and they are big Hens, so I think the Partridge Rock Roosters will be fairly large. They are not supposed to be as large as the Plymouth Rocks but have similar personalities.

I was looking at my Dorking crosses today, and one of them has green legs and four toes. The other has yellow legs and five toes. I hope one of those is a pullet. If so, I can compare the egg colors with the Legbars I am hatching.

I cleaned out the Brooder today for the Marans I hatched on Thursday. 7 of 13 hatched. One of them zipped but did not get out of the shell. The other 5 had one internal pip but did not make it. These guys were very wet an messy, even with 30% humidity for the first 18 days. When I hatch Marans eggs again I may try less humidity and may even use the sanding tip.

I love the Feathers on the feet. They are 5 days old now:
