Ok Steve and I will donate 2 cents each!

I'd have to make friends with everyone on the forums to pay for that Silkie at this rate.

OK...I'll just wait a few years and see what happens with the hatching eggs.

Looks like I have 3 new birds coming soon. Gee thanks guys!

So I'll be getting a pair of the little mottled guys and the bantam AM. I need him, the others are eye candy. LOL

Have you ladies heard of those chocolate orps and bantam choc Am's? I also love seeing a cochin running away with its feathery feet; it waddles like a penguin.

I want those next!

Oh so 3 more for me isn't enough? Now ya gotta bring up chocolates. LOL

Actually I love the chocolates, but I've seen so many shades in the same color and with my luck, I'd get the shades I don't like. Same with lavenders. Different shades, but I still like them, tthe chocolates are just different. Some are very pretty and some are just dull to look at, but I do love them.

I love these little guys - I am actually working on a calico color variety of bantam cochins. Would love to get my hands on a chocolate bantam cochin!

^ Yes! Now if they were just running away...hehe. The Marans I had was so funny when she ran. I don't know why I love that.

I think they are projects atm so I would wait on those chocolates. I just checked the prices and

I agree with you though, some of their colors are duller. Kind of like the blues. I really love the dark blues with edging but the light ones, not so much.

Oh now see. Those are pretty. I like them. What I want to see if a completely milk or dark chocolate bird when they call the solids chocolate. I really like the patterned birds. There's a difference with those, but solids shouldn't look like a latte. LOL

OK I posted these in the Bay Area thread. I'll be working on a coop made from a peach bin on friday and I'm looking for just the right coop to use from these links and the main part of them will be made from the bins. The bins are 4 x 4 x 2, so I'll be adding to them, but it's going ot be great to have the main section there to just make cuts to. My big thing though is an external nest box. I need to build a few, but if I don't get to make more than one, I want a cute one.

OK what which ones would you all build from these?

I like the first two and they are very similar, but the first one is interesting. I don't know about external nest boxes since I used plastic crates for mine. Boy, did they fight over that 1 crate even though I tried putting a couple more in there.

Mine do that.

I once pulled 6 hens out of one box. I have no idea how they all stood for any others getting in or how they even got in. I forget what I was doing, but I was walking towards them and saw a head an feet sticking out like one was folded in half. I had to be so careful cause there was a couple of Games and the rest were FBCMs. I couldn't believe it. Later I wished I had gotten a pic, but I was too worried about getting those birds out safe. They were twisted around eachother. Wings, legs, heads, it was unreal. Three other boxes sitting there empty and they were all piled in the one.

The bins are 4 x4, so I want as much floor space as I can leave. Plus I don't want to have to open the coop to collect eggs since grandkids like to help.

If you are good with woodworking then it shouldn't be a problem for you. I don't really do the whole "measure twice, cut once" thing..so my coops looked like they were patchwork. lol
But that second coop design has a cool nest box that looks easy to make.

I remember this one time when my Delaware was taking too long in that crate, and the Marans just could not wait; she was bok-boking and pacing around the run. So she hopped into the nest box while the Delaware was in there, and the Delly gave me a look like, "SERIOUSLY?" and the Marans literally kicked her out.
