I went out about 20 minutes ago with a flashlight to see if I could find him and he's out galavanting around near the back door.

I yelled in to my daughter to throw on her shoes and I herded him into a wire dog crate with some young chickens. Just went out to grab him out and he's sitting on top of there little house and comes down to see me. Tried to grab him and he ran to the back and back up top. The birds woke up with the light and I was fighting them back in.

His butt is stuck in there till tomorrow. Funny thing is, that used to be his home for almost a year.

But he's back and Kayla is so happy.

Since Bon Jovi was stolen, this is his baby and I'll be using him. I have EEs and more OEs, so with his FBCM blood I should get some nice OEs. Plus I like his feathered shanks. Was mainly mentioning him, because when these girls start laying and they others start up again, I'll be using him, so if those are something you could use, I have those for you too. I'll try to get a pic of him. Wish my cameras were working and didn't have to rely on my phone.

I wouldn't mind a couple of olive eggers as well. It will just add to my rainbow egg basket.

I'm so glad you found Easter! I can just see Kayla jumping up and down and grinning ear to ear! So glad she has her bunny back. Tell her "Aunt Sunny" said "Hi". She is such a sweetie!

A breeders list would be awesome...but the sad part is that, even though I WILL drool all over the pics of beautiful chickens, I can't have them yet. I am hoping that next year we'll be able to look at some land up north and find one we like. I want to move back to Chicago so I could find steady work (sounds funny, because my brother lives there and he says it is worse there than here). My SO is the only one right now working and saving. I am so

that we are on the same page. It seems that it can't be that both of us work at the same time; it's either me or him lol. Anyway, once we have that little homestead I am going to have 50 laying hens, a few breeding roos and at least 50 meat birds. I already have a list of the breeds I want: Am's, Marans, Orps, OE's and EE's, BR's, and maybe a couple Cochins just because my SO loves their fluffy butts and feathery feet. Oh, and Faverolles! Whatever else breeds you ladies suggest would be awesome too.

I haven't even been out back yet today. I have the slows. It was kind of funny that we herded him right into the crate. Silly rabbit!

ChicksterJo where will you be looking? I can let you know what I find while I'm looking, if you have a price range.


I look a lot and my daughter is a realtor, so once she knows my money is going to be available, she'll start looking for me to. It's her second job, but she's be so much happier if it was her first. It's just also held her back that she's a store manager and people treat her RE like it's a hobby or something. She's had family member turn around after she's driven them and helped them find what they want and they go another direction without even telling her. She's helped a lot of her employees though. She knows what they want and exactly when they can afford and works with them. She's great at sales. So when everything gets worked out for me, and if I haven't already found something for her to work with me on, I know she'll find me something and it will be perfect. Funny how all my girls know me well and when they moved away from home they moved to places that remonded them of me or things they knew I wanted, so I'd have it in some way or another. Just keep hoping it's going to happen the way I need it to.

I've had a hard time with what I'll have available next year, but trying to find uber cheap and not cold! I swear I;d still an RV on a patch of land if that was the only way to get it. Just too old to build something permanent once I did. I need space, no animal hater laws and a Starbucks and I'm good. LOL

Hopefully we'll both have our space next year.

OK so I'll figure out what I want to do about the breeders section on the first page. Have some things to do today though. I need to figure out what to do about the easy escape rabbit cages and then tomorrow going to Turlock to work on a coop with Karen (Sowngrow). She has a friend that sells peach bins and she's made coops out of them, so I'm FINALLY going over to work on my first one. Hopefully something half as nice as what was in the links I posted. Wish me luck.
 
Just saw that I80 in Vacaville had a truck jack knife and it was loaded with chickens. I put a thread out about it, but I can't find a link online so looking. Chickens everywhere.
