So I can have a lot of birds to put in my large flight pen and my grandpa could have some at his farm too.May I ask why you would want to have Valleys lay all year long?

QuailCo Eggs
Well, when they start to lay in the spring, you'll have more than enough eggs to hatch. Although not as prolific layers as bobwhites, you will be over run in short order, without having to artifically stimulate their production. So I can have a lot of birds to put in my large flight pen and my grandpa could have some at his farm too.
I've been building my pen at a very low budget and been using all the scraps I can find, and I can only afford a couple pairs of birds, but would like more. I don't want to cause health issues to the hens, but want more chicks.
I hate to say it but you will cause health issues to your hens if you try to stimulate the hens to lay year round. I raise and sell a lot of California Valley Eggs and birds and realized it’s all about patience when it comes to building your covey. I don’t know what kind of incubator equipment you have nor your experience but if it were me, I would save your pennies and invest yourSo I can have a lot of birds to put in my large flight pen and my grandpa could have some at his farm too.

“If” you could get this breed to do it, I would recommend back-to-back seasons: Spring and Summer. However, I would not recommend two seasons a year for egg production. Can California quails hatch in two seasons a year without causing any health deficit? if so which season would you recommend? Spring and autumn?
Cheers
Although not every year, hens are known to lay and hatch two clutches in the wild if conditions are good. A few years ago, I've had a hen that did that (spring and early summer). But, if you keep pulling out eggs, then the hen may lay more than two clutches worth of eggs. As mentioned before, too many eggs will be taxing the hens health so make sure your hens have the proper diet. Can California quails hatch in two seasons a year without causing any health deficit? if so which season would you recommend?
