California Valley Quail

Valley quail and blue scaled are very similar in care. If your pen is more then 4' high soft netting might be a good idea. Once they color out you will be able to tell the males and hens apart very easily. They lay late spring into early summer for me. And I would give them grapes and lettuce for a treat along with bird seed every couple days.
