Would you not recommend having my three young pullets (6 weeks old) in our run right now with our air quality so bad due to the local wildfires? I feel bad having them locked up in their night time dog crate but I don’t know if the air is ok for them... Thank you

I might put a wet towel over the front or back of a fan pointing into the coop to filter air.

Bringing them in *may* be more stressful to them then letting nature take it's course.. we are all breathing this.. Despite it not being ideal.. ALL of nature is dealing with it.

California has terrible air quality on a regular basis.. this is just more obvious. :(

Hang in there everyone! :fl

BRING THEM IN or do your best to filter the air in their coop!! I just made an account to warn other people. I'm in Amador County and the air quality was nearly hazardous yesterday. This morning, I found one of my young cockerels (7 weeks old) dead in the coop. He was healthy and energetic days before his departure...😭😭😭

I just brought the rest of my flock inside and put them in my bathtub. They seem happy to be away from all the heat and smoke.

Stay safe and learn from my mistakes.

So sorry to hear that happened to you! And the Fork Fire is awful close to you.

We’re going to try to convince my dad to head down from Pville to stay in Sac just in case.
