Hello… I hatched a few call ducklings from my flock and got a couple surprises. Currently our call ducks are snowy and blue bibbed drakes then white and black bibbed hens. Somehow we got one that looks like magpie? And one that was solid brown from bill to feet and now getting the female grey pattern lol. There IS a small chance my khaki Campbell drake bred with a call hen for the brown, just so thrown off by the pattern 🤷🏻‍♀️
It’s obvious in my photos the ones in question… any help with color identification is appreciated. ☺

The Magpie pattern is caused by the dominant “Runner” allele and the dominant bib allele. The only one of your ducks which could have the runner allele and you not see it is your white hen. White cancels all color but they can have anything underneath it. So, she is that babies mother. If she is a pied call under her white, she could be the mother of the other two if the snowy is the father and both parents are split for dusky/wildtype.

Did you use an incubator to hatch them out or did the Hen hatch them herself? I was just curious as I have heard how difficult they are to hatch out. Some people have no problems if they use the Hen though. They sure are cute ducklings.

Hi there
I’ve never hatched this colour before .Normally I hatch snowy, gray or blue fawn from my flock but these two are different. Wondering if anyone can help with colour ID ?
