Hi again I have 4 call duck eggs on day 30 (although 2 of them were a bit behind so I'm not too worried about them not internally pipping yet)
I have one egg (egg 7) that was fully developed by day 23 and has been trying to internally pip for the past 3-4 days. I just candled it earlier and it doesn't seem to be moving that much (trying to pierce the air cell) and I don't know if its giving up or just resting. I would think it should be internally pipped by now since one of its siblings already has internally and externally pipped.
Which brings me to a quick question! Egg 4 has externally pipped over 24 hours ago, still moving and peeping. When do I need to start chipping away eggshell and helping it out? I hope it's not shrink wrapped as I do open the incubator to check the other eggs for internal pips (though it's only open for about a second or so, I try to be quick) and I always add more water after to keep the humidity up

I have no experience with Call ducks so don’t feel like I can give advice but here is a waterfowl hatching guide I’ve found to be very helpful:

Are you sure they haven’t internally pippped? I think you could give them pin sized safety holes
Yes I'm sure. 2 of them are trying to internally pip but havent yet, fingers crossed they pip by tomorrow since I am getting a bit worried. But thank you for the guide, I'll look into it!

Finger’s crossed! It does seem abnormal for them to take so long to internally pip.
