People keep posting about see movement, but I do not. Only when the eggs externally pip do I see movement when candling.
For the experienced eye candling shows if the embryo still lives without seeing movement. The presence of a crisp definite edge between the air cell and embryo along with distinctive blood vessels are a sure sign that the embryo lives. When the embryo dies the membranes and blood vessels break down fast and become fuzzy, hazy, and blurred. Movement can be detected easily when the baby externally pips. Holding the eggs to an ear, the duckling can be heard tapping at the shell and/or cheeping.
