Hi, im wondering if anyone could give me some addvice and answer some of my questions. This is my first time incubating eggs and they were purchesed off ebayy. Ive got 18 and they came Tuesday and another lot today so would they be alright too go in on Saturday?

Also, whats the best temprature and humidity? Ive read about so many differentt one its a bit confusing. It says on many websites, day 25 is when i should stop turning and boost humidity. Is this correct? If so, what do i boost the humidity too and as its a manual incubator, is it alright to keep opening it to mist or should i just put water in the tray at the bottom?

Sorry this is so much. I hope someone can help its just so nerve wracking. I dont want any babies to die and i know all 18 wont hatch, but id like to try and hatch the majority. Thankyou. Any advice is very appreciated.

Calls actually don't take 28 days...they take 25-27, average 26. So lockdown should be around day 23. No adjustment to temp for lockdown, humidity at 55-60% until lockdown then up to 70-80%. The hatching babies will raise this even more once they start to hatch.

I'm sure they will be fine. You may want to let her know to listen for their peeping tho. Sometimes they need assistance hatching due to their tiny bills. If she has been hearing the same egg peep for over 12 hrs without an external pip she may have to pip the egg & partially assist with 2ipping. A small knife or needle/safety pin works well for this. Candle the egg to make sure of where the air cell & bill are & drill a tiny hole close to the bill. Use the tip of the knife or needle/safety pin to chip away a very small area to expose the tip of the bill. Set the egg back in the bator & wait another 12-24 hrs before assisting any further. It will need time to absorb the yolk sac & blood from the veins in the membrane.

I'll explain it all to her but I don't know if she'll be able to do it... I cant put them in any later to change the due date unfortunately I dont think??

As long as the eggs aren't over about 10 days old when you set them you will be fine delaying the set date by a day or 2 to make sure you are home on hatchday.

I'm going to put them in tomorrow. That way I'll be home for hatch day. So excited!!
Good idea
