Hi everyone,
I'm so happy to announce that the couple of snowy call ducks I rescued a little while back are laying! Here's my question,,,

I would like more calls, will the hatchlings be safe with all my other ducks and 2 geese when they're young? Or should I remove the babies and let them grow bigger before letting them in there? OR should I seperate the mom,dad and nest from everyone and just have them live seperate? I would like to keep my menagerie of birds together however. Does anyone else have calls with their ducks/geese??I also thought of hatching the eggs in an incubator but then introducing the babies wouldn't be as easy....??

Since calls are so small, I think I would separate them, it's just not worth the risk of someone getting trampled or even attacked when so tiny, we had a horrible accident happen here when our gander stepped on a Muscovy duckling and killed it, it was an accident but made me realize those lil guys are tiny and get killed or hurt pretty quick. And calls are much smaller than Muscovy ducklings. Plus ducks can be mean to ducklings too. Drakes especially can kill ducklings, and CONGRATS on the eggs I bet they are cute.
