call duck fertility

im new to call ducks. i recently got a pair of greys and a trio of pastels. i have them seperated now but they were all running together for a little while. how long do i have to wait before i can be certain they will be pure greys and pastels? any info would be very appreciated

If it were me and the ducks are NOT laying yet, I would wait 2 weeks, but if they are laying then I would wait about 3 or 4 weeks..............but thats me.

they just started laying. ive gotten 2 eggs. but i really dont even want the possibility of crossing colors. ive always been pretty big on keeping my birds pure to color. i roughly figured 2 to 3 weeks. i just want to make sure

You do not have much to worry about though. The grey and pastel, if mated together will produce blue fawn, not a mixed color. So you can separate them if you wish, but you can also set any eggs you get during that time and get blue fawn.

i didnt know that. maybe i will set a couple eggs and see what happens
