Hi guys!

Sorry if this has already been asked I did try and search for a previous thread.

In about a month I'd if finished a 20m2 run for 3 male call Ducks.
Been doing so much research over 5months I think my eyes have almost burnt from the screen! :bow

The only thing I couldn't find much info was how much room the ducks would need in the sleeping area as this won't be locked as it's inside a secure run on a 4inch concrete base and will be guarded at all times lol.

I have a chicken coop that fits 6 large hens and is pretty big but to me that seems like to much and thr extra room without it would be more useful. What is a natural type of den setting for a duck? ( My spell check keeps thinking I'm saying somthing else that ryhmes with duck)

I'm trying to keep the run "looking" as natural as possible I've also got drainage and soak always on place for easy cleaning etc. My first time owning ducks and apparently I shouldn't get 2 females and a male as thr females would destroy my friendship with the neighbours :smack

Just after any info you guys have got in regards to call ducks and different types of houses I could make and how much room would they need if it's only for sleeping in. My guess is there probably just sleep in the secure run somewhere. They have a pond in there etc that's all linked up to different water butt systems and empties itself when it reached a certain level and fills up when it rains.. always does so should have a constant flow of water for 3 seasons and summer I'll chuck it daily and put fresh i... I'm blabbering on now! Thanks all Luke

At least 2-3 sq ft in the house. (1 sq m) at the least, and as much room as possible for the run.
Thank you for your fast reply. Think I've got the amount of room easily covered with just 3 little ducks and daily free ranging for 5 hours plus the pond in the run and all the bloody bugs I've been collecting and putting into breeding tanks for when they arrive so I've always got a supply of "be my friend" treats :)

I have 6 Calls in one pen...10x10 run and extra large dog house...Its plenty big enough...I also have 4 Mini Appleyard living in a 4x4 Coop with a 12x4 Run...Daily they get out to free range...Over winter they will have a 6x3 shed and 10x10 run...All Ten will be using that...Their body heat will warm up the shed....
