I am getting some call ducks, ive never had any of them before and i was wondering do they fly?? should i keep them with other ducks such as runners, blue sweedish, peking, mallards buff ect....?? and will the breed with other ducks and will there babies be sterile???

Yes, Call Ducks fly. They can cross-breed with other breeds - the babies will not be mules (sterile).

I don't know about keeping them with other ducks - I don't have any Calls! I want some though. There is no end to my duck addiction!

I have my calls seperate from the biggies most of the time. I have little Microduck that I have to watch out for. The bigger ducks will breed and fight with the calls and I keep a close eye on them when they do freerange together. This spring I will not let them freerange too much together without me out there watching. The bigger ducks tend to get alittle rough, especially in the ponds.
The calls wings are clipped because they will fly. And it is my understanding that babies will be sterile if bred with Muscoveys. But I love my little calls.

Seems to me that the big ducks would hurt or kill the little call ducks . I have both and would not under any circumstance would I let my call ducks with the bigger ducks. The bigger male ducks especially such as the cyuga an pekin and others seem like they need more (ladies) if ya know what I mean I have all 3 kinds an I have 1 male cyuga to 7 girls that seems to keep him happy. And my call ducks are separate .My little call ducks are so sweet . Just my opinion.

I have my call ducks with my mallards and my muscovy ducks. They all get along great!!! Have never had a problem. They have been living together for years. I purchased my call ducks when they were a year old and slowly integrated them into my flock. It didn't take them any time to become the best of friends. Now they waddle around the yard as if they own the place. They are their own little gang. The call ducks are soooo sweet. There are never any fights with the drakes.

I have all my ducks mixed together and they do great. The one problem is that my one call drake thinks my jumbo pekin duck is his girl and hates when my male crested mates her. He will try to pick at the male, but nothing happens and there is no fight.

mine are mixed...no issues

along the lines of the mating thing...anyone seen a male call with a full sized lady and get fertile eggs?
