Call duck stuck on back and died :(

I had a call duck hatch last night and was doing great so I moved him to the brooder. He snuggled up to a stuffed animal and I went to bed around midnight. My husband checked on him at 1:30am and he was on his back and had died

Any suggestions on how to prevent this? Very heartbreaking!

I have no idea. but my little Indian runner does that sometimes. she is all alone cause her little buddy some how broke her neck in the cage but thats not what you talking about. umm was he all alone or no. and sometimes they can do that in their sleep from what i heard but idk umm. sorry for your loss.
