CALL DUCKS ARE HATCHING!!!

Oh yeah. They're bred to have tiny bills, so they often can't break out of the shell on their own. But as I learned with this hatch, as long as you make a tiny hole for them to breathe once they internally pip, you can just wait out the 48 hours or so it takes for them to absorb the yolk, then bust 'em out. Once I learned that, it really wasn't as tricky as I was expecting!
Actually that's incorrect, you should wait ONE day after there due date, if there's no progress THEN you make the safe hole. The reason your's took 48 hours is because he wasn't ready, you were not even on the due date time. He's safe hole should have been made later on, Once I realized that you were only on day 25, the best thing for him was to leave him be until ONE day after the due date. That's why I said give him TWO days, not because that's the required time it's because that would bring you ONE day past the due date.

ALWAYS ALWAYS wait UNTIL there due date. Once there due date has come and gone, THEN you can safely make the safe hole. Safe holes are ONE day past, ducks have enough air in there shell to hold them over for 24 hours max.
