Poor Mutsy. I wonder how Bunny Boy would feel about you saying that!? So, officially, how old is sexually mature for bunnies....? I've just always waited until at least 6mos......
I think your right..All I know is they breed like Rabbits..;)..Bahahaha...:gig

So I was reading through a bunny thread over on byh, there are breeders who immediately put a buck to their does as soon as she kindles!:eek: poor gals! I guess they have larger litters that way....? I could never do that to my mommas. Up until Ginger and Daisy I've always had meat bunnies.... but I never try to over breed and wouldnt. They get to raise and ween and get a couple weeks of time off before I think of mating again. Even though it was unsuccessful until my new doe and buck..... I think that is torture. Well.... back at it. My critters need me....

Nope...I'll just follow along behind her..I can't tie her up. Never in her life was she tied. Sadly, soon enough she will be gone. Some days I hope sooner than later...:idunno
I understand that totally. I could never work at an old folks home. I lack the patience. :hugs

I believe those that do that are breeding meat rabbits. Use them up and eat them I suppose. I personally wouldn't breed more than a couple times of years, but my breeding career is done for now. My bunnies start maturing at 4 months. I wouldn't breed until after 6 months, but soon than a year for the first litter.

My Ducks today..

I think they were talking about show rabbits.... but might have been meat rabbits.
@MatthewsHomestead
I think Bunny Boy would be fine. Are yours stealing matches to send smoke signals home...? :lau...:idunno
not yet. I think they went to good homes. I vetted each buyer before I would sell. Showed the kiddos how to handle them and if they didn't listen I wouldn't sell. If the parents didn't seem I terested I didn't sell. If it seemed like someone just wanting them for meat I didn't sell. I was super picky. Lol. But hey, my animals, my business, my choice, right?
