Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

Java Joe might benefit from some time penned up by himself for a week or two.
Penning my drake did nothing to change his behaviors. It's worth a try, but I wouldn't hope too much. Muscovy are stubborn birds that want to do what they want to do.

He's a gorgeous boy. :love
I forgot to mention. The breeder had a flock of pullets and one cockerel. They were blues, lavender, and a black one. But, the black has a little orange in it - not like the golden laced Wyandotte though. It was like thin pin stripes. I don't know how it will look when full grown. Her stock came from a breeder in southern IN. So, I think I really lucked out. My roo has a bit of leakage (maybe to me that is what it looks like). His dad had pure blue feathers and pure black hackles. She said that is what the European blues look like?

Ugh. So sad. I will give him a few more months then. I haven't been attacked - yet. But, I am tired of averting him and his bad manners.

I'm definitely jealous. I would love a black Wyandotte rooster. I saw a flock of black Wyandotte in a book and they are gorgeous. You're lucky to have someone close to you.

I always swore I wouldn't be terrorized by my critters. It takes all the joy out of it. I do give everyone multiple chances to mature and improve, but in the end I do what I have to for peace, harmony, and joy here. You will know if and when you had enough.

I definitely won't give up on him yet. But, less antagonizing would be nice. ;)

I can’t wait to get my calls this spring!
Question: If the breeder has both ducklings & full grown call ducks, should I get ducklings or grown ones??
I actually prefer the adults...Ducklings are cute but extra work..
