Almost like a lash egg..Do you give lots of snack food? How old are they?So I got home and my son comes up to my car bawling that Stumpy (the other leghorn that is eggbound) is dead in the yard. I walked over to her and she popped right up. I looked at her vent and she had half a broken egg sticking out of her vent. So I brought her in and soaked her butt in warm water and then gently worked the egg shell out. I cleaned her up and gave her some more calcium gluconate and she is by the heat now relaxing. She did eat a little and drink a little. I don't expect her to make it, but here is a pic of the egg that I pulled out of her:

It's crazy that I've had 2 girls get eggbound in a week. They eat layer pellets and have oyster shell on the side.![]()
