Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

I am planning on not letting them hatch any for awhile. Hopefully. I hear they can have hidden nests.
Mine have always nested somewhere covered, generally in my shed or under the hay feeders. One did have a nest in a rotten tree trunk and I had to hunt her down one year. If a hen goes missing I keep my eye out. If I see her I secretly follow her, if I don't see her than a predator took her.

In all my years with muscovy none ever got away with a secret nest with me on the case. That year of 60 plus duckling because my husband said let them hatch, than the subsequent need to butcher most of them taught me a good lesson.

Yesterday I screwed up again and had 2 bunnies out together. Thankfully they were both females. So unfortunately I had to move the remaining buck, Mr Peabody, to the other shed with the rest of the males before I end up with all my rabbits pregnant.

I felt bad, he's my main boy, but he's adjusting to the bachelor pen. The girls seem sad without a man in their midst.

In other interesting news the muscovy ducks were all outside playing in the puddles and Dwight my drake was squishing hens trying to mate them. So I'm sure they will start laying soon.
Awesome news...You must share Bunny pictures too..
