Morning everyone :frow
I've got some good news and some bad news,

Lets start off with the bad news first.
Woke up at around 5:00 AM and couldn't fall back asleep due to my sleeping disorder. So i decided to check on the little duck eggs. Quickly added water to the incubator and pressed a flashlight to the eggs that didn't externally pip,
I noticed one of the call ducks had internally pipped but wasn't moving, So I pulled it out and closed the incubator.
I then gave it a little crack with the flashlight and peeled back the shell and membrane.

The call duck did internally pip but it was just below the air cell. There was lots of dried up blood so i'm guessing it must of pipped into a vein. Still had an un-absorbed yolk.. Very cute small little thing but also very dead :( The other call duck is still moving but hasn't pipped internally yet, Another egg had externally pipped on the wrong end of the egg and wasn't moving so I took that out as well and carefully started peeling away the loose shells and membrane and to my surprise the duckling started to move, I peeled back some more shell and membrane to help the guy although he isn't peeping or moving much, Could just be resting? Not sure if he'l make it.

Candled another call egg which wasn't moving at all and presumed it dead. I'm going to have to contact the lady and reschedule her order, If the one call hatches i'm keeping it.

Now for the good news.
I have 21 good eggs still~ All have externally pipped except for 3 and the three are still looking active :woot I got a very loud duck that seem to be very eager to get out. The pip is pretty impressive and I expect it to be out of it's egg by afternoon if not sooner, All the other eggs are rolling and chirping in their encouraging everyone else to hatch:wee

I'm going to be soo happy if I can hatch out 20. I'm off to go pass more time and take care of everyone outside now~
Sorry you Lost a couple......:hugs

Yeah, Though it was expected since this is my first hatch. I'm just glad I was able to actually hatch something

Thank you~ Once it's all dried out is that normally when you take yours out and put it into the brooder?
I do it once they get moving around and bumping into my eggs...
