I think one's broody and one was just laying an egg, The one in the back was still in the nest this morning so I think she's starting to go broody?
Don't let them turkey hens set together. I let that happen one year and it ended with a game of toss the poult, cause it ain't mine. I had to pull them and brood them myself. It was a mess.

Exactly..I'm on patrol watching my two Calls hatching so close...It could be a disaster if I don't intervene on time...

Learned that lesson with chickens wayy back when I had speckled sussexes. Dont want that mess happening again :sick I think that just the one turkey is going broody and that it refused to get off the nest when the other turkey had to lay an egg.. If she really is broody i'm going to toss the eggs and put the ones i'm incubating under her and fence off the nest so no one else can get to the nest..

I was out scrubbing up the playhouse that I got for the ducks. I thought it was such a nice day that I would let my chickens out to forage in the open run. I took the playhouse parts close by the run just in case. Wouldn't you know it they were out for maybe 30 min (tops) and a hawk is circling overhead. :barnie
I gave them the command to go "in" their secure coop and small run. 3 went in immediately, Cinnamon was just doing her own thing on the other side. I locked the 3 in and swooped Cinnamon up and put her in the secure area. Dummy. Of course she probably wasn't a dummy - just knew that I didn't have treats for them.
She was probably thinking yeah, I've fallen for this no treat thing before - not today lady!
Usually after my evening chores, before I lock them in, I get a few yummies and shake them in a container and say, "In, let's go in!" They run right in. Of course if they think I am taking too long they come back around the corner to see what I am doing.
After I locked them up today they were giving me a squawking. Poor things. I got a small handful of corn to console them. They were having so much fun too! Stupid hawk!
