Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

Well, the two girls have decided that they love perching on the top of that pet gazebo. I had to grab them off last night again. Then, this morning as soon as they were out and I went into the shed, I heard flapping and they were back on top of it. The problem I have with it is it is canvas and they are pooping up there - plus this morning it is raining so there are puddles of poop. :sick
I found a kennel on craigslist, but realized it has no top, so I would be in the same boat as for night housing. If I could figure out how to build a rain roof of sorts, then I could remove the pet gazebo since it is there only for shade. I am thinking if we could run a line of hot wire across the top of the run anything that got up that far would be shocked enough to leave.
My husband is afraid if I expand room, I expand animals. He doesn't mind as long as I am here, but if I want to take a trip without him, he doesn't want to bother with the animals.
I found some videos on how to build some moveable posts to make the run more flexible as in - not the rigidity of the cattle panels. It would allow me to add some extra space without needing great carpentry skills. Plus, keep the chickens in an area without having to go searching for them in the corn.
