Not all silkies have vaulted skulls. Out of the 6 I had only one had one.
So they had crests like a Legbar?
Silkies without a vaulted skull have a smaller tighter proof on the head. Those with vaulted skulls will appear to have a higher proof. Shannon"s silkies don't look like they have a vault. So she shouldn't see that in the chicks hopefully. I hope I'm understanding and you are getting what I'm saying.
Vaulted skulls are more seen in show bred silkies because it makes the topknot look bigger and more impressive.

..I heard two peeping but never saw Chicks yet..I quickly left her alone..
