Ducks normally breed in March through around July when the drakes go into molt. It might work with all of your ducks, but if the drakes fight you will need to separate one of them. Or you could separate the males and give them each a female, but then you might run the risk of the drakes overbreeding the hens. How old are your ducks? If you want to hatch out a lot of Ducklings, you will need to collect the eggs and incubate them. If you leave the eggs on the coop there’s a chance that one of the females will set them, but that is not always the case. They will stop laying when they go broody. Call ducks are seasonal layers so they only lay in the spring. Hopefully I didn’t confuse you too much.Hi
I'm new into breeding call ducks.
And I have several questions regarding these cuties.
When is the best time to breed call ducks?
Can I put 2 females and 2 males in one pen together. Do the females have to be certain age? How many eggs do they lay? I have an incubator, can I put the eggs they lay in the incubator or just leave the eggs alone with mom? How many times a year do they lay? Anything else I need to know?? Lol
Thanks and I hope is not too many questions lol.
Blessings ❤

Yes, my yard is mud and drill holes too.Boy are my ducks making a mess of the yard. It's full of bill holes, and mud. Hopefully they all disappear like they usually do. This is my first time in a long time with so many ducks.
I'm considering some geese to get over my fear of them. Husband said it was a great idea.Of course he's probably thinking about eating them too.

That's too bad it didn't workout for you.It went well for a bit, then they started picking at her crest. So I guess she will have to stay with the silkie chicks a while longer

I also put a bit of Poultry Nutri-Drench in their water to give them a little boost in case they need it.
