Kayla how did you manage heating the Chicks and Ducklings together. It's a bit challenging for me because I only have one of each so Clover is either too warm and Thistle is too cold. I have heated only part of the Brooder but they want to cuddle so I'm still brainstorming..
I don’t measure temperature in my brooders normally. But I just heated it like I would for chicks and I guess they just made it work. :idunno

I put the heat lamp on one side and most of the time the ducklings & chicks didn’t go over there because the garage is fairly warm.

I have mine on the end with a good sized cool spot. Thistle prefers the heat but loves Clover..

Here are some pictures of my ducklings.

The Black East Indies are 6 and a half weeks old

View attachment 1832828 This is Houdini I think it is female. Mainly because the Welsh Harlequin don’t pick on her at all.

Here they are all making nice for once.

Nice Ducks...:frow

Bob aren't your eggs in lockdown now? Anything hatched yet?
I think two more days til lock down. Have to check the sheet. Due to hatch on the 9th.

In my small brooder, I just use the brinsea heating plate and my large brooders have 4' sweeter heaters. I let the birds figure out where they want to be.

Oh I thought Lockdown was on the second..I must be confused...:D
I have never used heat plates. Only my heat lamps. I don't raise many chickens only Ducks.
