mandarins don't need a permit, only migratory species protected by the MBTA (migratory bird treaty act)

And if anything i would be worried about the larger domestic species harming the wood ducks (if any)

I was told they did oh well...

nope, all the "exotic" species don't need one. (except for a couple waky things like bahama pintails and smew that don't belong there)

There a beautiful little bird. I have 3 of them in my aviary. and another drake in my quarantine pen to replace my dead drake (RIP)

they do require an aviary or some enclosure to keep them from flying away. There is one user on here though that clips there wings and lets them out when she's home to forage.

ducklover1: this is random but i was on my laptop looking at your avatar and your signature and how it says your avatar is your nephew, well on my laptop it is a photo-shopped cat head on a duckling body. but when i switch to my phone its a picture of your nephew. Idk just though i would share, i was confused there for a bit.

i dont know if you should get Call ducks. i mean you do live around a developement...... Ask you local senator if calls are permitted in your area so you wont get into trouble. Happy Hunting!

A possible solution(if you are allowed ducks) is to get 2-3 Call drakes.
They're small, pretty efficient eaters and don't require a ton of room. A kiddie pool would be plenty for that amount of Calls.
The drakes are pretty quiet, they have a raspy, quack thing-not loud at all. The hens on the other hand...get out the earplugs!
