Hi,
I want to hatch ducks--Call ducks to be exact--but they are very loud. I heard that some people have individual calls that are quiet, and i was wondering if maybe you could raise them that way? or if its just their personality? Also, is it just the females that are loud? Thanks!!

If it's your first time incubating ducks I'd stay away from calls. They can be tricky for even expert hatchers and I would wait until you have more duck hatching experience before attempting them. There's no way around it calls are loud. They were specifically bred for that trait.

someone should breed them to be quiet lol. What breeds do you suggest? I want something like a call.

Many of the colors you get in Calls you can find in large fowl. However, most bantam ducks are pretty loud. Unless your going for a wild species all ducks will be fairly loud.

I honestly dont care about loudness anymore, that whay i thought "what the heck, i'll just get calls" but are they really that hard to hatch?? even if i get lots of eggs? wont i at least hatch 2 or 3?

Yes they can be a bit tricky to hatch. I know people that have hatched many ducks and still have trouble hatching calls. It really depends on your incubator, method, and the stock your getting them from. If you set quite a few eggs you should hopefully at least hatch 2 or 3

Oh I thought you meant i had to set like 40 lol! good, good, so now i dont have to spend so much money if i decide to hatch them

Are only the females loud though? Do the males just have the same quack as the bigger breeds?
