Am new on this site & UK based.
Have just tried to hatch had my first 6 call duck eggs - unsuccessfully
All eggs were showing activity & development up until lockdown.
3 of the eggs pipped internally over the weekend but got no further & after reading numerous places that Call ducks have difficulty at this stage, I pipped the eggs last night.
I found all 3 with their beaks through the membrane, not shrink wrapped, veins nicely absorbed, but dead
I was devastated.
Could kick myself for not having intervened sooner, poor babies
Anyhow, the remaining 3 eggs (now on day 26) are showing no signs of having internally pipped - in fact, no signs of life.
What should I do?!
Why would they have died this late on?
Looking for some support & guidance as I do intend to try again.
