Why does your chicken hate you today?

At some point she figured out that sometimes I carry food over. So she hurries over and follows me

I got the wing-flap on the face. Sometimes the dust....just not love that.

My chickens hate me today because I changed their feed without telling them.

They were on crumble and I changed it to pellet, no consultation with them first. I figured they kick the crumble out so much that the rats are multiplying nicely so it has to be changed.

I started this yesterday, they ate a few pellet and all on protest. Bring it on!!! Pellets again today and the day after and after that until they eat it. I don't have issue they don't want to lay eggs, not that they do much egg laying anyway.

They can't go into the turnout pens because of the rain and I'm somehow responsible for that. Here's one of our Australorps looking out at the wet ground. The coop and runs are dry.

A flappy face-slap is not what I signed up for when I decided to get cluckadoodles, but apparently it's complimentary

They always seem to hit me in the mouth, then I have to walk around with a puffy lip. When people ask me what happened I say a chicken wing hit me, and they assume it's the kind you buy in a restaurant and they get this look as they're trying to figure out the circumstances where 1) someone would throw a chicken wing at you and 2) someone would throw one at you hard enough to make your lip swell up a little.

This morning my hen Big Mouth...yes her name was originally Princess, but she screams the longest and loudest so we changed it to Big Mouth and it fitted her perfectly.

BM screams so much this morning and it was only 6am, she does not like it when another hen sit in the nestbox, despite the fact that she had already done her egg business.

I have had enough of her screaming so I pointed my finger at her, speaking to her through clenched teeth that..... I have had enough of your screaming, you are going to get it if you keep this up..

Big Mouth stopped her screaming, looked up at me in defiance and feather around her neck all puff up......she is saying..."You want a piece of me, don't you, ha?"

I was put on earth to argue with my chicken Big Mouth!
