Additional Benefits for Agriculture Exemption on Taxes

This weekend, I went to our local Fleet store and bought some motor oil and a new gas cap with gauge. At the checkout, I told the young lady that I had an Agriculture Exemption tax-free account in their system for chicken feed.

To my surprise, the motor oil and gas cap were also tax free! I saved another $3.00 on that purchase.

If/when you qualify for tax free purchases on Agriculture Exemption here in Minnesota, there are a number of other products that fall in that category as well. I don't know all the products that qualify, but from now on, I will be letting the checkout person know I have that account. Evidently, their computer system will automatically take off tax for any and all products that qualify.

In this case, the motor oil and gas cap with gauge were going to be used for lawn maintenance equipment and working vehicles, not for my personal cars. But I was never asked. I just got the products tax free.
