I'd like to "freezer can" some apple pie filling. (i freezer can because i dont know how to regular can yet..
..i basically put the stuff in freezer ball jars..)
So.. i guess my questions are: I'd like to keep the filling/apples sort of firm..(because it will cook down more in the pies..) Can i do this with freezer canning? Or will it turn to mush in the freezer?
And would i prepare the apples just like i did for pear butter? (peel and core), and cook down in a crockpot..
Should i toss the apples with a bit of lemon juice when i put them in the crockpot?
Thanks for any help!
