I'm very inexperienced, but these poults are the same age. One is significantly larger and they behave differently and make different vocalizations.
Does it appear I have a tom and a hen?
It's possible you could have a hen and a tom. But I'd say it's a little early to tell still. They look like they could be a little under a month of age. Like 3 almost four weeks? And I'm not sure about the coop part, I kept my turkeys in for a long time before letting them out just being overly cautious lol.
I agree, they're a bit too young to be sure whether you have a tom and a hen yet. I'd GUESS you have about 1-month-old poults, because they look to be about the same level of development as mine who are that age.
In most cases, birds are ready to move outside when they lose all of their down/fluff and have a full set of "real feathers" to regulate their own body temperatures with. It's extra easy to tell with turkeys because they'll lose all the fluffy head feathers around the same time (about 6 weeks of age). That should happen in probably 2-3 weeks if my guess at their age is at all accurate. If it gets cold/cool where you are this time of year, you may need to expose them gradually to the lower outside temperatures over a week or two (you don't want to shock them with large temperature changes, baby turkeys are extra sensitive to that even though the adults don't seem to mind).
