my mom agreed to getting into 4h for goats!!!!!!! i'm so excited!!!!!!!!! its amazing how everything seems to be falling together. i hope this works!

Make yogurt! I have a great custard goat-gurt recipe I've perfected. YUMMMY! That is worth every penny for my two milkers!

I've also made cheese and hot chocolate goat's milk. If your parents are in agreement, then make them some goat specialties!

They sound like reasonable folks!

haha! well so far so good!! ever since some stuff came up about what I want to do, not what my parents want me to do, they seem to be going along with almost everything! i'm the middle child and i'm always the forgotten one that everyone skips over, so now they are trying to fix all those years. i'm fine with that! bring on the goats!!

this is what I said to someone the other day who was asking about how to convince her parents to get chicks ...

way way way back when I was younger and I wanted to convince my parents to let me get breeding goats ... they kept saying no ... and to show them I was serious, I saved up, bought a heap of fencing material and put it all in myself, set up all the paddocks with feed troughs, hay racks and water troughs, set up little shelter sheds for them. I also went round to the local breeders and spoke with them, so that when I finally asked my parents again, I had it all set up out of my own money, and I was able to tell them that a particular breeder was happy to help me out with pregnant does for very cheap, and I had worked a certain amount of days for another breeder for an unrelated buck.

I guess that showed them my dedication to it. Now many years later I'm currently at around 30 does, down from 50 odd at one stage, due to drought. Whenever I want to add more goats, they say no, but I go by the old saying 'It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission'​

i've been wanting to convince my parents to let me buy a couple of pygmy goats and i think this might work

Me too! My horse is lonely and I just want to get her a goat friend, I also want to do 4h. My brother gets really p-o'ed when I get asked to do all the horse stuff... I am going to show my dog though, they think that we have to many animals, but I don't think we do!
