I volunteer at a horse rescue sometimes, and I have to do that a lot of the time. It's not that bad.
The point is that I didn't want to do that on 4h, I wanted to do fun stuffAt my work it’s 20+ horses. Lol
Maybe the 4h was just doing a volunteer event? I wouldn’t want to do that either if that was all they did.The point is that I didn't want to do that on 4h, I wanted to do fun stuff
Certainly not that bad, but I take strong issue with joining a group and then being used as labor to do the dirty work. As a periodic lesson of what a farm is, sure. This sounds like a scam though. It's not that bad
No they wanted to do that as a "activity". They also were teaching how to brush a horse.....but I understand some of the members don't have horses or know that stuff. Most of the members were like >8 too so not really a chance to make friendsMaybe the 4h was just doing a volunteer event? I wouldn’t want to do that either if that was all they did.
Hey! Someone gets it! Plus they never rode or did stuff like thatCertainly not that bad, but I take strong issue with joining a group and then being used as labor to do the dirty work. As a periodic lesson of what a farm is, sure. This sounds like a scam though.
Oh, just wait till you get to Precalculus! I'd love to hear what you think about that. I'm a bit ahead in math, technically finished, actually. I did my last high school math, Precalculus 2, last year, so I don't need to do it this year! I do actually like math, though, so it's kind of a bummer.I'm not even in algebra yet! Don't scare me!
Yup, I do! I start homeschool next Monday, and college (Running Start) next month.Do y'all have the summer off? If you do when do you start school?
I have two Delawares, and neither of them scream. I think it would be terrifying if they did!i don't know if her breed is supposed to do that![]()
Me neither.Wow I didn't realize so many people hated math!
I've been to a public school before, a community college. It's so weird! Like, you're sharing classes with people you're not related to. It's kinda fun, though. You get to take classes you wouldn't normally get to take, like volleyball and drawing.Have you ever been to public school or just homeschool? and if you have which did you like better?
You said it!!My friends that arent homeschooled as well say I'm lucky but they dont know how frustrating it is to be around your siblings 24/7.
I did Saxon math from 3rd grade through 12th grade, and it's a great program. Very intensive, of course, but thorough.Saxon math has been the absolute worst of the worst though.
It's a lot easier to get up early when it's light outside, so if you want to get into a routine, you should start soon, when it's lighter. I started getting up at seven when I was, like eleven, and I've kept it up ever since. There's just something peaceful about getting up before everyone else, besides the parents of course. I like to sit and read my Bible, then go do chicken chores, as I'm the one in charge of them.I have a hard time waking up before nine, how do you expect me to get up at six? and that only gives me an hour before my nine year old sister wakes up.
I used to, once before we moved to the east side, and once here, before covid. Covid messed everything up, and the co-op is just starting up this year. Sadly, I'll be going to college, so I can't go to it.Any of you go to a co-op?
We Washingtonians have to take a standardized test every year, to make sure we're learning what we're supposed to. I think it's a good idea. We actually take the Iowa test, as WA doesn't have one.I think that is just for California. Some state aren't as nice to homeschoolers as others.
Same! And I thought I had a lot of siblings with three.
Oh, me too! Imagine that.I have 3!
That was your choice!Sadly, I'll be going to college, so I can't go to it.
Me, me, I do!Who does 4-H?
Cool! I didn't know anything about showing poultry until I started a pm with @PioneerChicks, but you want me to add you to the pm?Were going to do it soon, I'm probably going to do the chicken things. I've never done it before so what is it like?
It's very hard, you have to know someone how does it then talk to them about it.It seem like its hard to get the info for 4-H, did you have that problem?
