This is day #20 for me...I originally thought it was day 21 but found out that the first day is 24 hrs. after loading the eggs (March11) so that puts Hatch day at April 1. So far...no pips, or zips so looking like I will have April Hatch...if I'm lucky. I'm hoping anyway for 8 blue orps to hatch. First time but temps are 99.5 and humidity 63 and day 18 prior to lockdown I saw 8 black blobs and a air sac inside. Didn't see movement but I was candling fast...wanted to get them back in. So....March hatchers...I'm envious...shooting for April hatch now! Loved seeing all the pictures!!

Well...I had read some saying day 19 and day 20 they had hatches....so was playing it safe. However....from what I have read...even if they started pipping and zipping tonight...it seems likely they would hatch out on April 1 and I DID sign up for April hatch contest. Like I said before...I am just hoping to have at least 1 hatch!! So rest easy ....no last minutes from me. Plus...I'm getting more eggs in April to hatch so can do that hatch if I don't get any from these.

Ok guys, I have only 3 hens that i will be collecting from and I would like to fill the incubator. How long can I store the eggs to be hatched with out loss of hatch ability? Also, i was thinking of storing them, while collecting, in the basement. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Some on BYC say 10days you are still good...you also need to have the storage of the eggs in the correct temperature and with the skinny point down. Put "egg storage" in the search area of this site and you should pull up info on it. How you store the eggs makes a big difference evidently.

I just got 14 out of 20 with my brand new Brinsea ECO20. I went 1 for 43 with a Top Hatch and was very disappointed. Hence the ECO.

I'll tweak the Top Hatch to see if I can get it to run stable but the ECO is much more reliable imho.
