Calling all our southern members

I live in,what is affectionately called, the "Redneck Riviera!" One thing that is certainly true about traveling in Florida: "the more north you drive on I-75...the more South you become!"

I'm in South Texas, (about 2 hours south of SA) and it still gets cold. I moved from the Panhandle of Texas where there are very distinct seasons and very cold winters. The winters here are fairly mild. Freezes maybe once or twice a year for a few hours at night. I haven't seen snow since I moved here 3 years ago, that was a little strange because I do enjoy the snow but I hate the cold.
I still have my AC on, probably will through most of December. Winter is pretty much over by March.
I have a winter garden and a spring garden, just planted cabbage and greens a few weeks ago and it will be ready in February.
I love it here and can't imagine living anywhere else. I'm actually hoping when I go home to the Panhandle for Christmas that I'll see a little snow, I sort of miss it...but I'll be ready to come back here where a sweatshirt or jacket is sufficient winter garb.

It's fun learning about other places.

We just picked up another 5 inches of snow last night. The chickens won't even put put a toe out...lol!

It doesn't snow much down here, but it does get cold enough that the cops won't get out of their cars unless they absolutely have to!
