Calling all Raccon experts

No this is not the case, maybe raccoons with rabies are out during the day. NOT all coons out during the day have rabies.

This seems to be more and more true as time goes on. I don't know if it's a lack of a feeling of danger for these normally nocturnal animals or what. I do know I'm tired of driving about at midday and having to worry about deer.

Not to come down on you about this post.

Game Warden , may have made that statment so people dont mess with those they see. Because of the risk of rabies. The danger of catching any wild animal is high.

When I was a young boy, I was always catching something. (bare hands) Believe me I learn which I could and those I couldnt. yep coon was one of the nots.

I really appreciate all the input from everyone!

I look at trapping and shooting the offender a catch 22. Yes, I rid myself of the one that is dumb enough to get into the trap, but I leave a vacancy for another one to take it's place.

If I see one, or see signs, of daytime adventures, I will be calling someone to take care of the issue. In the mean time, my coop is secure and the chickens are locked up each night. The run will get a face lift as soon as we get the extra cash.

Thanks again!
