Thanks for all the ideas guys.
Right now I just have the socket pushed tightly into the wall of the cooler. I am letting it run for a while and am checking it (obsessively) for too much heat. After an hour now it seems to be ok, and the temp is hovering around 96 to 98. And thats with no thermostat, only playing with vents. I am going to get a thermostat when I go to town though, I would feel better about leaving it over night if I had one. My humidity is around 70% without a drop of water in it. I think I will get a new thermometer and hydrometer though, mine is an anolog and is about 20 years old, I don't trust it too much.
