I've got these 8 chickens and I know the breeds of a few but some I have no clue...Also, really need to know if they are pullets or cockerels? Thanks so much for your assistance...I've numbered the pictures as follows:

NUMBER/NAME BREED GENDER
#1) Tiny White bantam-unknown unknown
#2) Lightening unknown unknown
#3) Pinkie black silkie unknown
#4) Yellowie black silkie unknown
#5) Red rhode island red unknown
#6) Rita splash cochin unknown
#7) Oreo splash cochin unknown
#8) Speckles bantam- unknown female (I think)

#1 is an Old English
#8 looks like a Wyandotte

Have you ever seen the pictures of chickens from the Murray McMurray hatchary? You might get some clues looking thru those?

Old English Game Bantam. Looks roo

Looks like a White Leghorn. Pullet

Black Silkie. I won't even guess a gender as Silkies aren't my kind of bird and have no experience with them.

As above

Rhode Island Red. Looking rooish, but I don't know who old it is.

Black Cochin. Looks roo

Black Cochin. Looks pullet

Silver Sebright bantam. No idea on gender

I've had Silkies since 2000! I started noticing right after they hatched, about the third day after, the rooster babies always had longer ankle feathers on the back of their legs than the hens did. It's not a 100% guarantee on this fact though. But 97% of the time it was true!

Take this advise for what it's worth too! A rooster chick had a split at the top of their oval-butt! A hen chick did not! Not 100% guaranteed on that either. But I started noticing the difference when I checked the chicks and kept a record of it. Most will say to look for a small piece of rice! That's a rooster! I'm still waiting to see one! LOL

Thanks for the input! I've researched the sexing info all over the web but since every breed is so different I have almost given up. I know silkies and polish are almost impossible to sex but I was hoping someone here could tell me or let me know what to look for on the various breeds (which is also unknown on some) :cd

Looks like a Red Pyle Old English Game Bantam cockerel.

White Leghorn pullet.

Black Silkie, but it is too young to tell gender.

Same as above.

Rhode Island Red. Guessing cockerel for now. Very pretty!

Black Cochin cockerel.

Black Cochin pullet.

Silver Sebright, guessing pullet for now.
