calling all the moms!

Dear over run w/chickens,my first baby was 11lbs at birth!!! yes normal delivery etc..The problem was he was ALWAYS STARVING!!! So at not even 2 weeks old,we gave him cereal, runny w/breast milk...He did great and it helped. We had no family or anyone around us for help/advice.Except the pediatrician who did not agree but he was not the one awake all night w/a starving baby..He is also the same Dr who told me when my son was 3 mos to let him cry abit,so he can learn to sooth himself to sleep..Ha, after 2 nights of trying that I took him in for a check up n he had a ear infection and and had 3 teeth popping through...I thought he was teething and the doc said impossible @ 3mos...@ 5 mos he had 6 teeth!! by 2 he had ALL his teeth he was not fat but wore 3t.. He is now 24, 6ft 5 perfect weight,I think 185 and a very healthy strong young man.. .My best advice is to do what you think in your heart is right!!!!!! It is your baby and you know your baby better than ANYONE else..Everyone is different along with different life styles, goals etc... and nobody can say it is right or wrong,we can only give our advice n oppinions or what we did, learned or the mistakes we learned from..Prayers are with you for the joy and happy memories of mother hood..ENJOY!!

We started giving my little girl cereal w/breast milk when she was a week old. Only because she would spit up all the time and the Dr. told us to. It helped keep the breast milk down. She would spit up a lot less. If you give her some it is not going to hurt her in any way. Just try it if it works thats great if not atleast you tried.

ok, have been giving the cereal in the formula for the last couple of nights. no problems yet at all. she is still sleeping 3 hrs at a time and at the moment has not eaten since 730 am and it is 11;50am so i guess she is starting to strech out feeding times. she did the same on sat. and most times daddy has her she will go 4 hrs between meals for him.

i may increase the small amount i give her slowly, see if that helps too. she goes to daycare next week and i go back to work. wish we lived closer to grandma's..
