calling any one from missouri

I buy you books and buy you books and all you do is eat the cover off of them. :barnie
I've been telling you this for months to just check your watched threads list :lau
You never said you didn't know how or I'd told Ja a long time ago.:lau

I my defense, I only understand about every third word you say :lau

Actually I looked under settings and preferences... but never found that menu on the left that you showed... or if I did it lacked the big red letters like in your picture ;)

I heard a chicken commotion out front this afternoon and ran out to see a hawk fly away. It flew straight to the east and I could see it go a long way. It had no white on it. I got the chickens back in their run, but one of the Spitzhauben girls was missing. I found feathers, called DH. He said if the hawk didn't carry the chicken away, then she's out here somewhere, hiding, or injured, or dead. We couldn't find her. Then at dusk there she was on top of the coop, looking fine. I opened it back up and she came down and went in.
No one will get to free range for quite a while.....
What kind of hawks or other raptors are all dark? It almost looked blue. OK, I see there's a Swainson's hawk that has a dark morph phase, mostly out west but western MO is in their range. Maybe that was it....
So I still have my 2 pullets. :love

Sounds like that was a close call!!

Wow that was a close call. We have hawks but the chicken yard is surrounded by house and trees and I've never seen one that wants to get in that tight of an area. One year we had a red tailed hawk couple build a nest about 100' from the house in a big oak tree.

Might have been a Merlin
