DH is out mowing the grass and our older flock (mostly EE) is following him like the Pied Piper bc they know he stirs up bugs. I am watching to see if the young ones will learn, they have only been free ranging 3 or 4 days. They are all Black Australorps. I didn't expect to like them as much as I do. Nice, calm birds. Not hormonal yet.

I would say this is the last year for the poor old pony stable. 😢
I will have a proper bon fire cremation ceremony for that thang. My daddy built that for me when I was a kid, and then my daughter played with it until she was probably 10, she's fixin to turn 21 the end of this month ...so It's lived a long hard life!

That is a great feeder :love
That yellow feeder it's actually a butterfly feeder my grandpa had. I hung it out for the butterflies for a couple years but I never did see a single butterfly land on it. The Orioles would always land on it and could not get a drink from it.
I had a different oriole feeder that broke so I stole the bee guards off of it and drilled some holes in the top of that butterfly feeder and poked them down in there. It works great until it rains!

I like ‘old people’ names for cats and dogs

When we first got married we got two cats, I named mine Budweiser and the wife named hers Michelob or Buddy and Micky for short. We brought them home and Michelob picked me and Budweiser picked the wife. They lived 15 years, Mickey would snuggle each night under my arm while I watched TV.
