I have those ugly things in my yard year round. They make holes everywhere and leave these huge mounds of dirt. I ran into a dirt clod from one of them that was hiding down in some taller grass in the ditch and bent my mower blade a couple weeks ago.
Crawdads are on my S list right after squirrels.

DH said they make holes, I have never seen them in the holes.
So you don't eat them? I imagine I'd need to find a lot of them to make a meal. I let it go back at the stream.
