calling any one from missouri

We’ve actually got one too, we call it an oven handler, but it seems we never do use it, rather we reach into the oven w mitts and take the pan out without pulling out the rack....
I can see it would probably be safer to use it and pull out the rack some...

But you can’t measure stuff or find the number to call the Missouri AARP with the squirrel …

how many times have you been making biscuits and needed to measure each one to ensure they are all equal, and then needed to tell a retired person about it?

all the time, huh?

Try that with the squirrel and you’ll have uneven biscuits and no one to call and tell about it. 🙃
Oooh I suppose you are right........Gotta tell everyone bout my biscuits.

Got home around 4AM after a 7 hour delay at Chicago O’Hare airport 😞
We were flying back from New Jersey by way of Charlotte,NC. They sent us out an hour earlier trying to avoid delays so I instead we got stuck in Chicago.
Checked the garden this morning. Picked 5 fairly large zucchini, a couple handfuls of green beans, a bunch of cherry tomatoes, 10 or so Jalapeños and 1 slicing tomato. We were only gone 4 days.
I did eat a small cantaloupe that I had picked before we left. Now it’s raining, so I won’t need to water the garden.
@jthornton how does my house and yard look? Besides still being melted. 😞 We haven’t gotten back down there since I melted the siding.

Looks like it did the last time you saw it, grass is smidgen higher. Pretty dry up to the other night and we got a lot of rain overnight.

That siding looks pretty much like the new house north of town on 67 behind a 6' chain link fence on the east side just after you pass the 60 west exit.

I guess I could go steal some. 🤣🤣🤣
Or better yet see if they will tell me where they got theirs so I can buy some myself!

My sister and her husband visited here after driving from Virginia. We don’t take people to the popular tourist venues. We go to the local parks and play on the unique swings. My brother in law wrote that playing on the swings was the ‘highlight of our trip in Missouri.’

Above —This one in Lamar’s park, is called The Health Swing, and 4 generations of our family have played on it. It can hold a bunch of kids all at once and you wonder how they stay on....

This one, in the tiny town of Iantha, spins riders around in a large circle, and you can get frightenly high. The playground is bordered by the train track....no fence between.
I came up with this little song to the tune of Old Time Rock n Roll:

Give me those old time playground swings
Today’s playgrounds just don’t have the same zing
We didn’t worry about safety or any of those things
Give me those old time playground swings...

We also went to Pittsburg KS Lincoln Park where they have a vintage mini amusement park called Kiddie Land, with a tiny Ferris wheel and other rides as well as a little 4 car train that takes passengers all around the park. It runs on weekends and evenings.
