I won a $25 gift card in BYC’s Chicken gift ideas thread, and I used it toward this heated waterer with horizontal nipples. I’d been using a heated dog bowl but the wild birds were pooping in it so much that I was cleaning it several times a day. It’s very easy to fill.
All the flock have figured it out. I haven’t plugged it in yet, as it hasn’t been freezing, but these drinkers got good reviews. They say that the
nipples don’t freeze up.

At first I took away their water bowl to force them to learn to use the new drinker. When I put the water bowl back, they still prefer the nipple drinker! I think they find it entertaining….
