I allways have emergancy supplies on hand, ever since that bad ice storm we had up here in 2002...Only thing I need to do is bring in more wood so I dont have to try and get frozen wood.

They are saying 8 - 10 inches here by Wednesday. The grocery stores were Crazy today!

Missy I had 6 roosters. I finally gave them to a friend to process this week. I didn't want to but it was a necessity. Between them crowing and attacking me, well it had to be done. But the good thing is.......it left me with an empty coop to fill up this spring! IF spring ever gets here!

Please be careful out there this week folks. Its going to be bad!

I have 6 too many roosters right now myself! I can't wait until the spring sale in Keytesville so I can sell them! One of these roosters actually belongs to my neighbor but he has decided he will just live in the ducks house during this bad weather! They have not bothered him. He had been roosting on top of the hen house all fall since he couldn't get in the with them. I cought him once and took him to another neighbors house to get him gone but about 4 weeks later he showed back up. My next door neighbor doesn't seem to mind that he is gone. I have no use for him I don't even know what he is! As soon as the spring sale comes around I will just sell him!

Yes the it is going to be nasty! I hope you all stay safe during this upcoming nasty winter storm!

I am not liking the weather forecast here. I am in Nevada, MO .... about 90 miles south of Kansas City and 50 miles north of Joplin. Forecast is ice tonight and tomorrow. Beginning sometime tomorrow is WIND AND 18 - 20 inches of snow! Holy cow, I am not liking this at all. They say it is to be the worst storm in many many years. Any of you getting it? The drizzle has started now.

I'm in north St. Louis county. My driveway was gravel but now it's a skating rink. The ground was frozen and still had a lot of snow from the last storm. It rained, sleeted and rained again. All the standing water is frozen now and I just heard the ice storm is still on its way. About another inch of ice expected then 1-2 feet of snow. I filled all waterers and feeders before dark but I'm afraid I may not be able to get one of the coops open in the morning even if I can get to it.

This morning I tied an extra long rope from the coop to the fence so I get to the coop tomorrow. The coop is on a slight incline and without the rope I can not get there in the ice. BTW .......I learned this the hard way!
