Hi im in Mo as well S E read the posts for thr last few days...YzeS incubating is like cocaine do it once and you cant stop! And do Not go on the payal eggs swap if you do hatch..lethal.
Speaking of hatching If anyone my way is is looking right now i am starting to sell Lavender orp chicks $ 8 each and lo eggs...$20 a dozen and some part english orrp x Buff Brahmas $3.50 each or $3 for 5 or more.
Will have someLight Brahmas later in March

What part of Mo are you in now? Predators have been the pits, I now have 2 dogs that help alot. My coop is predator proof but I free range during the day, just recently I went out about 11 am to spend time with the girls and had a huge fat oposum waddle in and had me trapped in a corner between the garage and the coop, I always have a firearm on me as I have had a few bad run ins with dumped/stray dogs. The coons are like rats here, they are just everywhere!

I live just outside Moberly so not too far away.

My coop is now predator proof. We sold our old house last year and when we moved I insisted on building a predator proof coop. At our old house I used a run down storage shed that really needed to be torn down.

Hello everyone ~
I'll take a turn to help the thread.... when the "big" changed happened to the site I stayed off for awhile .. been coming back more now,enjoy checking in ..... I'm a member "lurker" lol.... Dh and I will be getting our new little hatchery chicks in about 2 weeks ..... 75

and I showed some restraint LOL .I have another wish list started lol... Dh really likes wellies,so we did hatch some eggs from a member in Ark..We are trying to improve our birds... We had a couple of Wellies in the past,and they were bigger than the ones we have now..so we went to a breeder in hopes of getting them bigger... We have 12 of those in the brooder right now...

It was my first hatch and the bug has bitten me (down right took out a plug lol) Dh had hatched some as a kid,but not me ..... just always had chicks or older birds.... It was a lot of FUN !!!

Not looking forward to building another coop,this chicken math is ruff .....................

Very nice looking chicks!!! I stayed away after the change as well and just came back. That is A LOT of chicks, I pick up me new flock Feb 21 and have 18 ordered, all EE"s this time, I love those birds!

Thank you, are you getting the EE's from a breeder or Hatchery .... my chicks should be here Feb. 21 too (coming from Cackle) ... And I ordered some EE's

I want too put them with a wellie rooster and see if I can make some Olive Eggers (or maybe I'll just order some OE hatching eggs

LOL) We have a lot of friends and family that we are supplying eggs to (they can't stand store bought eggs now lol) ,so we hoping the added chicks will help keep up with demand..

Some of the new chicks had to be straight run so we'll have the "too many roosters" problem again....

I am up that way a bunch, the kiddo owns his home in Centralia and I am at the Green Valley gun range a bunch in fact will be there tomorrow

Un huh ...i thought so too,.And incubating...i havent seen one person well maybe ONE on the incubating thread that doesnt keep getting more eggs to incubate!!

.. Well i actually found a way...you just decide you will only "collect" certain breeds ..Then bite your tongue when one comes up you didnt THINK about you liked
How it works...you put up like 6 or 8 or 12 pure breed eggs (6 minimum ) and also can add other not pure to your offer...but first has to be pure. Then someone says "MINE "on them ( its like they bought them from you you ship them to that person )
Then THAT person puts up THEIR own pure eggs or they put up paypal money $15-17. And someone claims theirs ..one claim or MINE at a time
Well ppl on there try to keep it sort of secret so less ppl to , offer a "mine" on the eggs they want but i am telling my fellow Missourians
Trick is someone has to take YOUR eggs or paypal within a certain amount of hours or you cant offer or claim for a week!
You CAN add to your offer or retract or roll it back from what i understand so you dont loose your week worth of offers A few ppl didnt follow the rules and if they were bad for sending rotten eggs or claiming pp's and not sending out the eggs....trying to beat the system somehow ,... they are kicked off.
.Also you can only bid 7 times a week but they can even all be the same day.

YOU pay the shipping on whoever takes your eggs but then you just claim a paypal to pay them. so you are even
A little confusing but fun. At times moves REALLY fast others days goes slow.(like so far today)
I still have some eggs i am wanting and cant get the" mine" down fast enough to get them !!! BOO
.Some are really expensive eggs too but the right person has to get on that has what you want
So ya'll come join!.

Son also wants silkies and one of his d'uccle's died this morning (I opened up the coop door and she was just laying there. I wasn't home last night, kids had to close them up, so I didn't see if she acted odd the night before, so I'm hoping I don't have something wrong with the flock but everyone else seems OK. Unfortunately I'm also gone this weekend so I won't see their behavior.) I'm thinking we might have space for them but it'll be a little crowded since I ought to have 3 silkies minimum.
