calling any one from missouri

I think I read about the Great Goat Fiasco in our local newspaper, LOL! Yes that will take a long time to live down.

Think we are going to try and make the Marshall swap and are planning on going to Jim kern's swap also. Hope to some of you there.

Boy has my thread grown!
I had no clue that there were so many people from MO here!

( then why am I the only person who is from USA MO North that uses the word polish? It is true! Try a search on it!)

Sure do! Here they are...The roo is a partridge and does his job well. The hens are 2 white ones. They lay very well and I think have been with the frizzle as well since I have been hatching out some very pretty sizzle chicks!!!

Oh what pretty white hens--- Drool....If I hadn't promised my husband I wouldn't spend any more money on chickens this year......*sigh*

I just got a peep from my 6 blue cochin eggs in the incubator (day 21 tomorrow) which I got from trading 4 of my polish chicks for. So I sold my remaining 4 polish chicks since I still have 2 polish hens and I'm liking the whole variety thing. I think I may keep the mottled houdan cockerel around for a while... but I have to find the japanese bantam roo a home since I'm afraid him and the Houdan are going to have dominance issues and the houdan is going to win d/t size in a few weeks.

Hee hee. I was a bad girl and bought 4 more of the porcelain d'uccles (a.k.a. booted bantams/Mille Fleurs) from Orscheln's last order this week . I had 2 already that are about 2 weeks old. I'm thinking this may be the breed for my next step in the 12 step program, breeding and showing. They are so sweet, they fall asleep in my hand, and normally I don't have chicks do that. I'm thinking if they are this sweet as chicks, they'll be sweet adults. The only problem is since they are flyers and we have neighborhood cats I might not be able to let them free range, I'll probably have to do the whole 'chicken tractor' thing. My heavy girls have been fine (they'd beat the tar out of any cat that messed with them), but I see the largest cat constantly eyeing my silkie roo and 2 polish hens who are smaller.
So far I yell at the cats and they run away. I love cats, but I don't want them to think my chickens are fair game.

So, anyone want a free white japanese bantam 3 month old rooster? I don't think his legs are as short as they're supposed to be.

I was born and raised in Seneca Mo does that count I now live just outside of Seneca inside of Oklahoma is there anyone near me that has any hatching eggs they wanna get rid of?

queston -

We used to go to Seneca for High School rodeos. Seems like in MO, all the high school rodeos are in the south. Got to know southern Missouri very well.

Anyone going to Jim Kern's Swap this weekend. Think my DH and I are going down Thursday and stay the weekend. He asked what I wanted for Mother's Day and I said to go to the swap. No greater mother's Day than spending it with the kids and chicken lovers, LOL.
